The Wisconsin County Forests Association (WCFA) is pleased to announce a Request for Proposals (RFP) for an independent evaluation of the economic, community, and environmental impacts of Wisconsin county forest ownership.

Wisconsin’s 30 county forests encompass approximately 2.41 million acres and provide a wide range of public benefits, including timber production, outdoor recreation, wildlife habitat, conservation, public access, and support for local economies. WCFA is seeking a qualified and independent contractor to conduct a comprehensive statewide assessment that will help inform policymakers, county officials, land managers, and stakeholders.

The selected contractor will be responsible for designing and implementing a rigorous research methodology to evaluate economic impacts, environmental benefits, and community outcomes associated with county forest ownership. The study will also examine how county forests compare to private and other public land ownership models.

If you have the expertise and interest to contribute to this important effort, we invite you to review the RFP. We encourage interdisciplinary teams with expertise in forestry, natural resources, economics, environmental science, public policy, and community development to respond.

Proposals are due by July 31, 2026.

If you have any questions regarding the RFP, please reach out to WCFA Executive Director, Rebekah Luedtke.

Proposals must be submitted electronically in PDF format to:
